Our automatic selection includes a variety of instruments with magnification from 22 to 32 times and working ranges from 150 to 400 feet. We also now carry money saving builders' level kits and packages, which include the automatic level as well as a grade rod, a tripod, and a plumb bob.

These are optical-type builders levels that are self-leveling, hence the name, automatic level. When setting up these levels, a bulls-eye spirit level is centered. The instrument is close enough for an internal compensating mechanism in the form of a swinging pendulum-like prism to automatically remove any residual optical disparity thus producing a leveled line of site through the eye piece. This leveling affect is done quite quickly within the instrument by a dampening device so that the user does not have a long wait for the leveling affect to take place. The automatic level has the advantage of offering very rapid instrument set-ups and eliminating random errors in centering and instrument's spirit levels.
