Dual Slope Lasers
Dual Slope Lasers, also known as Dual Grade Lasers, have the ability to set slopes tilted in two or the X and Y axes. An example of a situation where there is a need to set slope in two axes is a parking lot sloped so that it can drain to an inlet in one corner or a yard sloped towards a street that itself has its own longitudinal slope, which of course is a very common condition.
Dual Slope Lasers are made to engage their slope function in either of two ways. The first and technologically simplest way a Dual Slope Laser's slope function is activated is by "Slope Match" or "Grade Match." The user must first switch the auto-leveling element off and then manually tilts the laser to the desired slope combination.
The second way that a dual slope laser's slope function can be put into operation is by "Slope Entry" or "Grade Entry." Slope Entry allows the user to input the desire combinations of slopes in the X and Y axes by punching them into a keypad on the lasers itself, or if it is equipped with one, into a remote control. The self-leveling feature is shut off for the slope fuction to work. Slope Entry is a bell and whistle to make the slope fuction easier to use, but more expensive.
Also included on this page is the Cone Laser. The Cone Laser has the a special ability to project a laser in a conical plane like you would see in certain athletic fields such as a baseball field. Baseball fields slope away from the pitcher's mound in all directions.
